Finding Balance Through Ancient Traditions

Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. Acupuncture helps you find balance through an ancient tradition. At Modrn Sanctuary we offer Accupuncture, Gua Sha, Cupping, and TuiNa through a collaborative partnership with top providers.

Additional Information

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture is not painful. In fact, acupuncture is performed with very thin needles that are significantly smaller than a needle you may encounter in a doctors office. Patients often fall asleep and are in deep relaxation on the table.

What happens in my first treatment?

During the first treatment a health history will be taken and evaluation of the condition you are looking to work on will be discussed. The practitioner will feel your pulse, look at your tongue and may palpate specific meridians to look for tender areas.

Can I get acupuncture while pregnant?

Yes! Acupuncture is safe during pregnancy. In fact, it can help alleviate many pregnancy and postpartum conditions you may experience. However, it is imperative to alert your practitoner if you are pregnant, as some points should be avoided for safety.

How many sessions will I need?

Treatment plans vary pending the client and what they are looking to work on and the severity of the condition. In general, it’s common to receive six to eight treatments.
