BENEFITS

  • Natural results
  • Boost collagen
  • Look younger, faster
  • Non-sugrical option for facial lifting

What Are PDO Threads?

PDO, or polydioxanone, threads are dissolvable polymer sutures that will be naturally and safely absorbed by your skin in the following months. These biodegradable threads have been in use since the 1980s in surgical applications. They are used to non-surgically lift and revitalize the skin.

There are four different types of PDO thread lifts: smooth, twisted, barbed and infinity. Mono thread lifts are best for superficial use in skin rejuvenation, since they stimulate collagen production.

Cog thread lifts are good for creating a “raised” look due the barb-like hooks that latch onto your skin for a pulling effect.

Twisted thread lifts are intertwined threads that help stimulate more collagen, are placed deeper in the skin and aid in restoration of volume to sunken areas of your face.

Am I an Ideal Candidate?

You may be a good candidate for PDO threads if you want to get rid of sagging skin and wrinkles on your face and neck. You can also undergo a thread lift if you want to recontour and reshape your jawline or neck for better facial balance.

You should be in good overall health before undergoing this procedure, and off any medication that can cause bleeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may not be recommended for this treatment.

Your Consultation

Your initial consultation at Modrn Sanctuary will involve a physical examination of your target areas. You will be asked about your lifestyle and medical history, especially current medications and any underlying conditions. You will be advised to avoid smoking, alcohol, and blood-thinning medications one week prior to your thread lift.

The Procedure

A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure (just some quick injections in the face – really!) that lifts and stimulates natural collagen production. The lifting is seen almost immediately and, as the thread absorbs, more collagen is produced and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles decreases. Look younger faster with thread lifts.

PDO Thread Lift Recovery

The recovery is fast and easy with most patients resuming normal activities the next day. Bruising of course is always a risk.

Pricing

The cost of a PDO thread lift varies from one patient to another due to the customized approach of our skincare professionals. The overall price will depend on the length and type of threads used.

Additional Information

How long do threads last?

Threads last between 10 months and 2 years.

What can I expect post-treatment?

After your treatment, you may experience some bruising, redness, swelling, or soreness, though pain medication is rarely needed. Do not scrub your face vigorously while healing and try to sleep with your head elevated, to avoid rolling onto your face. The risk of complications from a thread lift is minimal.

When should I get threads?

The typical threads patient is in their late thirties through early sixties. Older patients will typically get more benefit more from a facelift, although patients that are unable or unwilling to undergo major surgery will also see results from threads.

What is the difference between a thread lift and a face lift?

A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses local anesthesia, so you can return to work immediately after your appointment. For those who cannot undergo major surgeries, thread lifts are a viable and low risk option that will yield subtle and natural looking results. A face lift is a surgical procedure, requires twilight anesthesia, does have a short recovery time, but lasts 5 – 10+ years. A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure with no recovery time that lasts 1 – 2 years and is obviously less expensive.

How do threads work?

There are five types of threads – smooth, twisted, barbed, infinity and cone – that target different areas of the face. These can be used to lift the face, add volume to areas, or smooth fine lines. After discussing what areas you would like to target, the appropriate threads will be inserted into the skin. The threads are biostimulatory, meaning they induce the body’s production of collagen. As the threads are absorbed into the body, the collagen remains, leading to smoother, younger looking skin.
